Other Ways to Give
There’s more than one way to change a life.
Matching Gifts
Many employers match donations to charitable organizations for their employees, retirees, or family members. After you make a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters, check with your employer (or your spouse’s) to find out if they will match your gift. You can also use this online directory to find out information about the basics of your employer’s matching gift program.
If your employer uses a Matching Gift form, please complete it and return it to:

Estate Planning
A planned gift to Big Brothers Big Sisters ensures that the organization can continue creating life-changing friendships and allows you to leave a positive mark on your community’s youth. Including a portion of your legacy is simple and easy to do – here’s suggested language for a bequest:
“I give $____ (or: ___ percent of the residue of my estate) to Big Brothers Big Sisters Services, Inc., a non-profit corporation located in Richmond, VA for its general purposes.”
If you have included Big Brothers Big Sisters in your estate plans or would like more information, please contact Lynn Vannoy at lvannoy@bigbrobigsis.com or 804-261-4940 to start the conversation.
Stocks & Investments
When you invest, a child profits. It’s that simple. By making a donation in the form of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or other appreciated securities, you are making an investment in the future of children in your community. As a donor, you are entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full fair-market value of appreciated securities held longer than one year, and you usually avoid paying the capital gains tax that would be due if you sold the securities. Please contact Aggie Morris, amorris@bigbrobigsis.com for more information.
Neighborhood Assistance Tax Credit Program
Big Brothers Big Sisters receives Virginia Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits to distribute to individuals, trusts, and businesses. NAP Tax credits are an incentive for philanthropic giving for qualifying gifts to Virginia nonprofits that have been awarded an allocation of tax credits by the State of Virginia. A donation through the NAP credits program will benefit both you and youth in our communities.
