Matching Gifts

Many corporations and foundations will match contributions from employees and even spouses and retirees. Contact your organization’s human resource department for more information.

In-Kind Gifts

When you make an in-kind contribution to Big Brothers Big Sisters, your generous donation is given to one of our matches, offered as an auction item at one of our fundraisers, or designated for use at one of our site-based programs.

Examples of in-kind donations we accept include:

• New books, toys and sports equipment
• Tickets to an event such as a ball game, concert, theatre, etc.
• Gift certificates to local restaurants or stores

Gift of Insurance

How it Works:

• You transfer ownership of a paid-up life insurance policy to Big Brothers Big Sisters Services.
• BBBS elects to cash in the policy now or to keep the policy and receive the death benefit later.

Benefits:

• You receive gift credit and an immediate income tax deduction for the cash surrender value of the policy.
• You can have the satisfaction of making significant gift now to Big Brothers Big Sisters without adversely affecting your cash flow.

Honorariums and Memorials

Big Brothers Big Sisters accepts gifts to honor or pay tribute to a loved one, or to commemorate a special occasion. All honorariums and memorial gifts are acknowledged in writing to whomever you would like notified.
