Black Tie and High Tops Gala

New in 2008, our Black Tie & High Tops Gala.

Replacing our Yellow Tie Gala, the Black Tie & High Tops Gala brought about a new tradition in Richmond for watching the NCAA’s College Basketball’s Final Four.

On April 5th, we were down on the Court at the University of Richmond’s Robin’s Center watching large-screen TVs, enjoying plenty of great food and drinks, and bidding on silent and live auction items. This year’s Honorary Chair was Dick Tarrant, UR's, all-time winning basketball coach.

Even though our Big Brothers and Sisters volunteer, BBBS incurs real costs in safety screening of volunteers and supporting the mentoring relationship. We estimate that each match has an annual cost of $1,110. Your support at the Black Tie and High Tops Gala helped to ensure that more Richmond area children are able to share the magic created when one person cares about another person.
